WEEK OF 08.25.2025
With the boys officially back in school, we’re entering a season of renewed focus and refined structure as we gear up for the fall season. Let’s continue building good habits on and off the court!
DIVISION CHANGES
Starting September 1st:
This past weekend marked the final tournament in their current divisions for two of our core groups:
11U / 5th Grade Team will now move up to 12U / 6th Grade, adjusting to a larger basketball and tougher competition.
13U / 7th Grade Team will now move up to 14U / 8th Grade, and with that, the countdown to high school officially begins.
⏳ Reality Check: We have 10 months left to pour into this 8th grade group before we hand them off to their high school programs. Let’s make every practice, game, and moment count!
8TH GRADE PARENT MEETING - MARK YOUR CALENDARS
🗓 Date: Thursday, September 4th
📍 Location: Boys & Girls Club
🕕 Time: 6:45 PM
This meeting will cover:
Current state of the 8th grade group
Expectations moving forward
Leadership opportunities and accountability
Attendance is strongly encouraged.
UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS - MARK YOUR AVAILABILITY
We’re officially back in season and gearing up for two major events in September:
September 6–7 – Sports Academy Tournament (Only 2 weeks away!)
September 27–28 – OGP Tournament
Please update your availability ASAP so we can begin forming rosters and planning accordingly.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEKEND
Nicolas put together a strong all-around weekend:
Dominated the glass
Improved vision and passing
Efficient scoring around the basket
Nicolas continues to evolve and lead within the 8th grade group!
Rio delivered a solid all-around performance from start to finish.
With the full weight of point guard responsibilities now on his shoulders, Rio showed poise and control — even under pressure. He did an outstanding job bringing the ball up the court, handling aggressive defenses, and getting the team organized in their offensive sets.
He also brought the heat from deep, knocking down three-pointers consistently throughout the weekend, providing much-needed spacing and momentum. His growth as a floor general and a reliable shooter is something special to watch — and this is just the beginning.
Great job, Rio. Keep leading. Keep growing. Keep hooping.
SAVAGE SUMMER BASH - RSVP NEEDED BY MIDWEEK
Hosted by: The Balbuena Family
📍 Address: 27483 English Ivy Ln., Santa Clarita, CA 91387
🗓 Date: Saturday, August 16, 2025

This is a potluck-style event — each family will bring at least one dish. A signup sheet will be sent out to avoid duplicate items.
🏖 Bring: Swimsuits + Basketball shoes
Let’s enjoy some well-earned fun and family bonding!
If we do not receive more RSVPs by midweek, this event will be canceled. We need strong participation to make it happen.
ATTENDANCE REMINDER
Please remember that if a player misses practice during a game week, there’s a chance they may not be included in the game roster for that weekend. Practice is where chemistry, accountability, and growth are built—so attendance is crucial.

Coach Courtney’s Strength & Conditioning Program still has availability.
Focus: mobility, flexibility, kettlebell/band work, and light conditioning.
